General Membership Meeting Huge Success
If you missed the February WSAOHN General Membership meeting, you missed an excellent opportunity to meet, learn, network and share. What a delight to see new faces and to ta
lk about the many facets of occupational health nursing in Washington!
We enjoyed thanking the out-going Board members and walking down memory lane as we reminisced about former Board members and how WSAOHN has evolved over the years as well as highlights of years past. We delighted in talking with new members and potential members and the issues we all seem to be facing right now. You could feel the excitement and camaraderie in the room.
After a short installation ceremony, attendees enjoyed a delightful dinner, full of healthy and tasty selections that were sure to please any palate. Chelley Rohrig and Michelle Kom Gochnour moderated a lively, beneficial and very interesting presentation on Occupational Health Nursing in Difficult Times. They adroitly stimulated a lot of sharing and participation, for the benefit of all in attendance. Not only was their presentation advantageous and thought-provoking, but attendees were awarded one Contact Hour for the experience as
well.
The February General Membership meeting was indeed a huge success, thanks to all who attended and all who worked together for its success. Whether you want to support your association by “just being there,” or whether you’re thinking of becoming more active in WSAOHN’s activities, be sure to check the meeting schedule on this website for upcoming WSAOHN General Membership meetings. We look forward to seeing you there!

2009 NORTHWEST OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CONFERENCE
October 7 - 8, 2009
Fairview Hotel Vancouver
Vancouver, BC, Canada
CALL FOR PAPERS
Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Laboratory Analysis, Occupational Health Research,
Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Nursing
This years Northwest Occupational Health Conference will follow the PCIH National Conference in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The Northwest Occupational Health Conference has a national reputation as a dynamic, high quality, multi-disciplinary conference - one of, if not THE, oldest in the country. The quality of this conference is, in large part, due to the great volunteer time spent to put on the conference and the interesting, timely papers presented. Members of the Pacific Northwest Section, the Washington State Association of Occupational Health Nurses, the Northwest Association of Occupational and Environmental Medicine generously shared with
colleagues the results of their case studies, field investigation, research efforts, and program evaluations at last year’s conference. We’re also expecting the 2009 conference to provide the high quality experience expected of the NOHC.
The Program Planning Committee is now calling for papers for the 2009 NOHC.
