Washington State Association of Occupational Health Nurses
was established as a non-profit organization to further the mission of our parent organization American Association of Occupational Health nurses. We are committed to support Occupational and Environmental Health Nurses through networking, the development of collaborative initiatives with related professional organizations, and providing practice resources. We endeavor to sustain safe and healthy environments through activities involving education, policy development, case management and loss control, crisis intervention, health promotion, and injury/illness prevention. Occupational and Environmental Health Nurses offer the expertise required to maintain a safe, healthy, and happy work force.

WSAOHN, as a constituent association of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN), is the primary association supporting nurses in the field of occupational health and safety and providing representation of occupational health and safety to worker population and key customers.
Key customers:
workers, members, business and labor, legislative, government and political groups, small businesses, chambers of commerce, human resources, media, AAOHN, nursing, medical, vocational rehabilitation groups and associations, case management, insurance, utilization review, managed care schools
Unit strategies to accomplish our mission are:
*Communicating clearly between our membership and key customers and within our membership.
*Meeting or exceeding the standard of practice, as defined by AAOHN, in occupational health and safety.
*Availing key customers and our members on up to date information regarding occupational health and safety, to meet their professional and business needs.
*Applying strategic business principles to meet association and customer needs.
*To be both advocate and leader, involved in the process of change in the local, state and national affairs.
